Our practice is particularly distinctive in that, unlike many of our competitors, John Grogan is a genuine expert in the subject matter of his profession. He has been engaged as a partner in public practice since 1986 providing traditional accountancy and tax services, and general business advice, to a mixed portfolio of businesses and private individuals. Until 2009 this part of his practice was conducted as a partner in a large national firm. Since founding JGA in 2009 John has by deliberate policy ensured that he retains his credentials to act as an expert witness by continuing to act for a portfolio of general practice clients. Allied to this, John also brings to bear his 20 year experience of providing expert advice for the Courts, in the last 10 years of which expert witness work has engaged the majority of his time.
Another distinctive feature of our approach is that JGA has deliberately been created with a flat structure to allow John to maintain a close and direct personal involvement in the detail of the cases where he is instructed. Indeed, except where it is clearly uneconomical for him to do so, he may well carry out all aspects of the work, including the investigation and report writing, himself. In this way he ensures that there can be on his part no lack of familiarity with the detail of any case which can be exploited in the witness box.
